Letters from you!

(as appeared in the Hamilton Journal-News)

Dear Sir/Madam:

Last week, I was featured soloist performing a Pops/Jazz Concert with the Hamilton-Fairfield Symphony Orchestra and Chorale, and what a World Class organization you have here…I don’t say that lightly, as I’ve performed throughout the world with fine orchestra’s and yours ranks up there with ANY of them as does the chorale…Maestro Paul Stanbery, and associate conductor Dave Burchfield were wonderful, and so easy to work with, and the Princeton Pike Church of God was a wonderful venue to perform in…

All of this came about because of Ingrid and Sandy Sanders who contacted me right after Hurricane Katrina to donate my services for a concert on October 5th, 2005 to raise money for Katrina victims of the New Orleans area…Through their efforts and those of a GREAT committee chaired by Maestro Stanbery, almost $50,000 was raised, and a wonderful relationship began between me and many people on the committee and community…

I have never seen such hospitality as what my wife Gardner and I received throughout the week…There were fantastic dinners in homes almost every evening, and a very special thanks goes to Bob and Cora Fiehrer who not only underwrote my appearance at the concert, but also housed and fed my wife Gardner and me for a week…

You should change the name of your city to “Hospitality Plus,” as you have the most generous people we’ve ever had the pleasure of being with and add to that, Maestro Paul Stanbery and the Hamilton-Fairfield Symphony Orchestra…Thank you one and all, and PLEASE, ask us back in the not too distant future;

‘The great honor”

As a visitor to Hamilton last week, I had the great honor and privilege of attending the Hamilton-Fairfield Symphony Concert March 4, featuring pianist Ronnie Kole. This was one of the most enjoyable performances I have seen in a long time.

Maestro Paul Stanbery and Associate Conductor David Burchfield were both most impressive in their ability to draw out the best in their very capable musicians. I was captivated by the facial expressions of many of the musicians, who obviously were eager to rise to the challenges offered by the incredibly skilled and fast-paced Mr. Kole.

Hamilton is most fortunate to have developed a relationship with Ronnie Kole. I hope that you are able to bring him back in future years and to expand awareness of his talents so that many more Hamiltonians can share the experience.

Congratulations to your fine orchestra!
