Scholarship Opportunities

The HFSO sponsors and maintains three outstanding opportunities for young musicians.

The Jack and Audrey Confer Music Scholarship Fund presents ten one hundred dollar gifts yearly, offering young players the opportunity to study privately with a qualified teacher. Special attention is paid to financial need and dedication to study. Students in grades seven through eleven and residents of Butler County are eligible. Deadline for application is during the Winter. Call 513-895-5151 for more information.

The Edward Kezur Awards are presented to two outstanding members of the Great Miami Youth Symphony. These $1200 awards are to be spent only on the further advanced study on the student’s instrument. Before his untimely death, Dr. Kezur expressed the desire that symphonic music have a future in our community through these awards. Only members of the Great Miami Youth Symphony are eligible.
